Having said I must cut down on the wine, the first social invitation of the year was a cheese and wine do at a friend's new flat.I treated myself to a bottle of Sancerre (chilled), which was reduced to £7.99 from £9.99, so I felt justified in the expense. OK so I have no money and happen to be supplementing my income support from my meagre savings but somehow, the wine tastes so much better when you know you really should not be spending on such luxury. Washed down with prawns and avocado, grapes and Gruyere cheese, good friends and some chilled out music what more could you wish for?
