These were taken en route to Canterbury from Stratford. Time to get out of London and to visit friends on the coast. To get to Stratford International I had to find my way, courtesy of local workers, from platform 11 - Stratford Regional, through the Olympic village to the newly built international connection. Very strange to be travelling through the construction of the Village and to see it in its gutted, unfinished form. At this stage it is hard to imagine what the 2012 finished Village will look like, and even more difficult to imagine the impact of the Olympics on the surrounding area. I for one am quite excited at the opportunities this might bring, let alone the excitement of a dismal east London, under-developed and neglected area, becoming the centre of attraction for the world, in less than two years time.
