How many people still write journals or diaries? I miss the physical act of putting pen to paper and writing a letter, or writing in my daily diary . Infact I remember as an art student years ago, drawing with crayons, pencils and pens on a regular basis left an indent in my third finger. I always use to press hard and my lines were bold. The internet has now replaced the written form and the daily diary with blogs, emails and social networking sites. It has opened up communication channels and made the local global, but with this wonderous new technology, I fear we have lost the effort and depth, once involved in communicating, and also the one-to-one relationship of communing with the self, knowing that our physical toil is sadly being replaced with a speedy short-hand which is superficial, fleeting and fragmented.Friday, 29 January 2010
Putting Pen to Paper
