Bloody Workmen!

This was taken out of boredom and frustration from inside my friend's flat while waiting for the workmen to finish sorting my new gas boiler. On Tuesday, the boiler was going to be exchanged for a brand new safer model, and I accordingly made arrangements to stay at my friend's flat while mine was being done. But they decided to  sort the electricity first so I would not be without heat. I spent most of the day out of the house, while waiting for them to finish. Wednesday was going to be the day  for the boiler, so I made further arrangements with my friend. This time they decided to finish off the electrics and do the boiler on Thursday! A rather miffed friend, who had also made arrangements to accommodate me by staying at his boyfriends,  agreed to my staying over on Thursday. So from 10am, in they came, petrifying my cat who refused to budge from under the sofa. By early afternoon I decided to move the cat and my laptop downstairs to my friend's flat. Come 8.pm they were still sorting out the boiler. In the meantime, I was starving and my poor cat, frightened at being in a strange flat  decided he would rather be outside in the freezing snow. He eventually succumbed and  scratched at the door to be let in. Come 8.45 I was told they could get the cooker working, but no central heating - they would be back on Friday! And so it begins again! I was too knackered to post this on Thursday, but now that I am still sitting in my friends flat waiting for them to finish I decided to at least catch up on yesterday's post . Lets hope today ( Friday) I will be writing this blog in my own warm flat.

And the reason why all this came about on the coldest week of the year? My landlord was going to Oz for 6 weeks from Saturday. Great timing!
